Derek seemed confused by Ayame’s confusion. He had frowned at her before he said that now that she had mentioned it, he hadn’t heard from Morgan since the fire so it was like he had been erased from Stiles’ life. Ayame shrugged her shoulders, not sure what to tell him. Instead she focused on the books in front of her, trying to focus. She couldn’t do anything to tell him about what Stiles felt about his brother. He had never told her about him, so she supposed he had done something to upset the younger boy. After all, why else would Stiles forget someone? He seemed very family oriented so him cutting a family member out of his life would meet that you would have to do something seriously screwy. Stiles seemed pretty forgiving so…she wasn’t sure what he did, but whatever it was, Morgan would need to grovel for Stiles’ forgiveness, she was sure.
The smell of green tea wafted into Ayame’s nose and she grinned, breaking her attention from the book to turn and look over at the tea that Derek had set down. She thanked him, but he seemed distracted so she returned to her book, holding her cup of tea in her lap while the book was set on the floor, some space in front of her so she could sip and read without worrying about possibly spilling the tea on the books. That would be the last thing that she wanted to do and she hoped that it wouldn’t happen since, well, that would be horrible. Still, as Ayame focused on the book in front of her, she was sure that Derek was about to say something. He did sigh heavily, which wasn’t a good sign.
Ayame looked away from the book and over at Derek as he told her that he found it strange that he was just gone. He then said that he hope nothing happened to him while he and his sister left Beacon Hills to protective him and any others form being hurt by the Hunters who had hurt his family. Ayame looked at him, wishing she could tell him anything that would comfort him, but she couldn’t. She smiled at him a little. “Maybe…maybe he left to look for you two,” she suggested, hoping to give him some form of comfort, but she wasn’t sure that that was the right thing to say…
