Ariel was a bit amazed at how quickly her feelings changed - a few minutes ago she was all gloomy and brooding and now, blood was rushing through her veins and she was actually happy. Feelings are a weird thing, she concluded with a shrug. She watched Isaac as he ordered his caramel latte and piece of cake, noticing that he too was soaked, and his curly hair seemed even curlier what with it being wet and all. She subconsciously tucked some stray strands behind her ear, not sure why she felt a bit over-aware of herself. She was just relieved she didn't wear anything white.
The blonde shrugged when Isaac said he'd pay for himself; she didn't want to get into an argument about it - it was a gesture on her behalf and if he didn't want to take it, so be it. They weren't good enough friends (or on a date) for it to matter too much to her. "Okay," she said simply not getting bothered from it and then turned to the barrister, "I'll have a cafe mocha with a banana-chocolate chip muffin please" she fumbled in her bag for a moment to get her wallet, and paid the appropriate amount.
Ariel walked along the counter to where they were supposed to pick up their order. For a moment Ariel wasn't sure what to say so there was just silence. Ariel was comfortable with silence but she figured if they were going to drink together they should at least talk. She figured she had two options - either talk about serious, graveyard related stuff, or try a new topic. She opted for the latter since she was starting to feel happier (and she dared say he seemed so as well) and didn't want to bring down the mood again."So, do you go to Beacon Hills High?" she asked looking up at him. She thought he did - she thought she had seen him before already (and that would be the most logical explanation), but she was still new enough in town for it not to be rude to ask.
