Since things had taken a turn for the worse at his home, Isaac had always enjoyed running. Any chance he got, he'd went out for a jog, favoring the solitude of the woods for his runs. Oddly enough, he'd especially enjoyed jogging through the rain feeling like the water could almost wash off the feeling of his father's rough hands on him. It helped him to let off steam, burning off the energy he wished he could use to fight his dad. All the anger and frustration was let out into the world through the thumping of his feet on the hard concrete.
Even though he didn't have to live under the cruelty of his father's fist anymore, he still liked to run off anything that bugged him and the memories of his father were enough to get him going. Adding all the emotions about his struggles with the supernatural, Allison's death and his estrangement from Derek, he had enough fuel at his disposal.
It was only about seven o'clock on this Saturday morning when he was lacing his running shoes and turned on the music that reached his ears through the headphones plugged into his phone. Most of the street he headed out to was still asleep, just like Scott and his Mom, enjoying their day off to have a much needed lie-in. It didn't take him long to get to the preserve and he ran off the beaten track soon after, cutting through the trees. He liked the feeling of his shoes' soles crunching over the dead leaves covering the ground.
Isaac finally stopped, leaning down to rest his hands on his thighs as he was panting. As he stood back up, he noticed that he'd stopped just a few feet away from the Hale house ruins of all places. It had been some time since he'd been here what with him and Derek not really talking much since his alpha had thrown him out rather cruelly and he wondered if he'd involuntarily been heading here. The beta lifted his arms to rest his hands on the back of his head as he took a few more deep breaths.
The apparent lack of Derek's interest in him bugged Isaac more than he would have admitted to his friends and he let out a sigh of frustration as he pitied himself for the fact that whenever one bad situation in his life ended, another one seemed to begin.
