The school day had been a normal one for Ayame Moon. She had arrived, attended her classes, eaten lunch alone since that’s still how things worked at the school. After that, she continued on her way to classes and then school was over. It was just like any other day for the girl who had moved there a few years ago. She had a few friends, but most of them had had solid friends since before she got there and the girl didn’t really know who exactly to sit with. No one ever waved her over so she usually sat outside and ate, enjoying the sun (when she could, of course). If nothing else, she would just sit alone or at the far end of a table. It didn’t really upset her, although it did make her feel a bit lonely at times. There wasn’t much she could do about it, not until she started making friends with the correct people.
Still, it didn’t make her hate school or anyone there. She knew they all had their friends, the people they’d known since they first arrived or were born. It took time to get those kinds of friends so Ayame knew it would happen eventually…she still had a while until she graduated. For now, though, she focused on her classes and the other things that mattered, like her job and her family, which was normal. So, after class ended, Ayame decided that she would get some school work done in the library. When she arrived, she set down her laptop and got to work, occasionally heading to the stacks for books to see if any could help her with her project that was due in a few weeks. It was a history assignment, which was why she had to do it in the library. At home, she couldn’t focus. History was decent enough but still not something she was overly good at, not like her chemistry course.
Snce that was over, Ayame saved her work and looked at the clock on her laptop. She gasped. ”Shit!” She mumbled before she got up and grabbed her laptop. She sprinted towards the door and down the hall. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and called her aunt, apologizing over and over before cringing as her aunt hung up the phone. She skidded to a defeated stop in front of her locker. She groaned. ”Damn,” she sighed before she shook her head. Figured the one time she forgot to babysit her aunt knew about it. Instantly, she slowed down her run to a walk and shook her head. ”Figures,” she thought to herself with a shake of her head before she looked down the usually empty hallway and saw someone. She blinked before she realized who it was. ”Hey Lydia!” Ayame chirped as she approached the girl, mostly because her locker was next to hers.
