Late Shifts

Peter was glad that he took the baby from Kahlee since he saw the way she responded to Stiles’ question. He watched the fake smile on her lips before she asked him if everyone ran from something eventually. While she hadn’t reacted the way that he imagined she would have originally, she still reacted a bit and it was enough for Peter to see. Stiles may not have seen it, which was normal. He wasn’t a wolf despite how Peter had offered him the bite. Peter had been respectful of Stiles’ choice. He had allowed him to remain human despite how he was sure, at the time, the boy wanted to be like him. Still, Stiles seemed to do relatively well as a human surrounded by supernatural creatures. He really did seem to do well enough, even after getting possessed. Peter could still sense something was more than a little wrong, but he kept that to himself. He wasn’t Stiles’ father or mother and if Scott couldn’t see how his friend was hurting, that was his problem.

Stiles told her that they did, and laughed a bit before he told her that he needed to get his caffeine fix before he stated that he would leave them alone. He turned to leave before turning back around, reminding Kahlee to talk to Scott as soon as possible, as Peter had told her to. He then looked over at Peter and pointed at him, telling him not to kill anyone. Peter scoffed, rolling his eyes before he looked at boy. He reached out, grabbing the boy’s arm gently and looking at him, his eyes showing his earnest. ”Thank you…for giving her a shot,” he told the boy before he released him and turned, walking towards Kahlee. ”You, get coffee,” he told her before he turned and made his way back towards his apartment with no doubt in his mind that she would end up back at his apartment to make sure he was properly taking care of Jack. As such, he needed coffee.
