Nothing makes one so vain
AS BEING TOLD THAT ONE IS A SINNER

It was opening day for Madam Callisto's shop of mysteries. She had expected a bit of a better reception than what it had come out to be so far. Dead, completely and utterly dead. She even had free fortune telling and palm reading. Yet, All she had gotten were a few people wandering by her shop, casting nervous glances towards it and then walking away. No one had actually come in. despite the open door, the shop decorated quite elaborately with Persian ruggs and heavy, tasseled velvet royal purple curtains cutting of the bak of the room where a raised platform had her table, covered in beautifully decorated table clothes and a crystal ball and cards sat on top. The works. Two velvet red covered chairs on either side, though one had a gold trim, signifying her chair. The counter with the glass case was filled with artifacts and trinkets, lit candles sat on every table, and a relaxing soft lilac's and honey smell coming from the store should have made it inviting. Heavy curtains covered the front of the store shop window. Maybe if she opened them, people would want to come in. For some reason or other, people felt safer in lighter rooms. So she opened the curtains, hooking them to the walls with tassels and blinking at the harsh new light. Yet, it made her shop seem more open and ....well, brighter. She blinked harshly into the light. Yet,ow everything in her shop seemed to glow, the couches at the side of the room, the shelves with miscellaneous crystals and trinkets for people to buy. " This is just great. A town of non-believer's." the old woman said bitterly.
She moved to put a sign outside the door to offer free reading's today. The sign said open, the door was open. If somebody did not come soon she would scream. Maybe next time she will take the disguise of a more younger, prettier fortune teller. Maybe that would get the patrons in. She sighed, glancing at one of the many mirrors, this one next to the counter, and full length, taking in her old form closely. If only she could be young forever. If only she didn't have to return to this body. She had five in total in the shop. The full length, three in the back of the shop on the three sides of the wall, and one behind the counter.OPEN ;; tag
