Mina Gabriella Miles Help I'm alive, my heart is beating like a hammer. Omega Werewolf Full Name: Mina Gabbriella Miles Nicknames: M&M, Miles Age: 16(going on 17) Birthday: October 12th Gender: Female Sexuality: Demi-sexual Face Claim: Daria Sidorchuk Appearance: She is on the shorter side only hitting 5'5 by a hair. Long hours spent with nothing too much to entertain herself has given her a pretty good grasp on how to manage her curly auburn hair that nearly reaches the middle of her back. She often braids it or has it twirled into some neat up-do to keep it out of her face. Sweaters and hoodies are her ideal weapons to hide her fragile frame, and the large scar that runs from her collar bone to just above her stomach. Her face is round and inviting, absolutely covered in freckles, with big brown eyes always looking for something new. Personality: Mina is very quiet and reserved around strangers. She is prone to nervousness and can even be a bit skittish. Well. Quite a bit skittish. But once you get under that thick layer of distancing tactics she can be very spirited. She loves to joke around and gets very passionate about things she finds interesting. Mother: Gabriella Garcia Miles, deceased Father: Sean Miles Children: N/A Pets: One very large, old and overly affectionate Bull Mastiff named Skip. Others: N/A History: Almost two decades ago on a brisk autumn night Sean Miles rushed his pregnant wife to the hospital as she went into labor, nearly a month early. The baby girl lived, but her mother did not fare so well. Gabriella remained in intensive care for several days but lost the battle for her life barely a few hours after Mina was named. The child was so small, as to be expected of one born so early, Mr. Miles could almost carry her in one hand. Heartbroken and lost, he finally brought his daughter home a week and a half after her birthday. The house never seemed so empty. Aside from being a bit quiet and small her infancy into her childhood was rather normal. She loved to play outside, would climb almost anything she could get her hands on. Mina did not have too many friends, but sometimes played with the other fire-fighter's children or sometimes even the kids of police officers. It wasn't until she was about six that the her doctors noticed something else was wrong with her. It started out with painful palpitations, and upon examination they found a rare heart condition. They told her and her father that if she did not get a transplant she would likely die before she turned seventeen. But donor lists are long and transplants cost a lot more than even a fire-fighter's insurance would cover. Not only that, the surgery itself is completely invasive and extremely risky. Many doctors refused to do the operation on a kid so young. So they moved. From place to place, never staying too long in any one location. Mina was home schooled, and all but lost her contact with the outside world. She had to keep her emotions in check, any thing that could give rise to her heartbeat could mean another attack and another costly trip to the hospital. She was prone to panic and anxiety, and sometimes even thought she actually preferred the solitary life she had gathered. She turned her attention to arts, anything she could leave her mark with. A child with a death sentence looming over her head, all she wanted to do was be normal. Go to gym class for once, be able to run down the road without the chance of collapsing. As luck would have it, a miracle found them. They were living just outside Phoenix, Arizona. She was in the hospital for a routine checkup when a car crash victim was pronounced D.O.A. who happened to be an organ donor. And her heart was a perfect match. Sean leapt at the chance to sign the papers, they'd figure out the financial issues later. And the surgery went off without a hitch. In fact, Mina made a remarkably fast recovery. With open heart surgery one could expect to be sitting in a hospital bed for months, but she was up and walking before the end of her second week. The doctors were stunned but thrilled and no one was about to look such a gift in the mouth. There was one problem though, one that none of them could ever have known. The heart they gave her, wasn't exactly human. Mina Miles walked out of that Hospital in Arizona with the heart of a werewolf. Her father thought it was time to move back home. The old fire station welcomed him back with open arms and they found themselves a small home on the outskirts of the suburbs. Everything could finally be normal. Or so they thought. Strange things have been happening, and not just a quick recovery. RP Sample: It was so odd going back to the hospital. The last time she had been it was probably one of the biggest moments of her life, and one of the most crucial. And had since moved back to her home town. So when it came time for a checkup, she was filled with all sorts of butterflies. Bits and pieces of memories helped her put together a picture of what the place used to look like. She spend more time there than at school or anywhere but her room when she was that little. Even so, time had changed everything in Beacon Hills. Hospitals and doctors offices always had a congruency though. Each had their own layout of course, but most had all of the same things, with different faces and sometimes fancier amenities than others. The hospital here was neither the best nor the worst she’d visited, and she had visited a lot of them. It sat slightly above average in a long list filled with memories of long bright hallways and loud beeping monitors. The people were certainly nicer here though. In a town like this, the doctors and nurses had seen just about everyone at least once or twice. Even so, it probably wasn’t likely that anyone would remember her. An attendant had showed her to her room after sitting in the lobby for a couple minutes. Mina had gotten very good at waiting over the years and was not at all a stranger to the amounts of time spent in chairs, on beds, on waiting tables, in x-ray rooms and the like. So she was happy that today it didn’t take quite as long as usual. The nurse would be in at any time to ask the standard questions, and then the good ol' doc would take a five second peek and she could be off on her way. She was feeling a bit anxious though. Being inside at all lately seemed to drive up her nerves. Like she had energy to burn and worries from no where. Maybe that was something to bring up to the doctor. Mina bobbled her toes back and forth over the edge of the bed, counting the tiles on the ceiling as she waited for someone to come in. A game she often played. Well, not so much a game as a way to waste time, but she always felt calmer while counting, or listing things. It was a tactic she used when she knew she was about to have a panic attack. Not that she was going to just then, but it couldn't hurt. |
