Wow. Who would have ever thought that Melissa McCall would have ever been able to enjoy a nice, relaxing day of shopping without any werewolf nonsense? Certainly she didn’t. She was more than a little sure that she would end up stumbling upon something that would inevitably lead to her being a damsel in distress or something of that nature for her poor son to come and save her, which was frustrating. He was her son and she was supposed to save him. Of course, Melissa didn’t give herself enough credit. She was selfless and while the woman was strong, very strong with raising a teenager all by herself, she tended to give her son more “save the world” credit than she gave herself.
Still, the day was beautiful. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and she was walking around in jeans and a t-shirt. No scrubs! It was absolutely fantastic and she couldn’t have asked for anything even remotely better. She seemed to almost float on air from shop to shop as she bought whatever she laid her eyes on. Well...almost. The McCalls were short on money, and as such, Melissa needed to be careful with what she bought, but she figured she had budgeted in a little extra money so that she could splurge a little for herself and for her son, which was really all that mattered. So, she was enjoying herself and relaxing on her one day off, which was great. She hadn’t felt like this in a long time, but she couldn’t ignore that…nagging feeling she had in her stomach, even if she tried her best to.
