CAELYN AMELIA FARLEY Might be I am lost forever, still I'm here to carry on. Even though the road is wayless, I won't doubt, I'm marching on. OMEGA WEREWOLF Full Name: Caelyn Amelia Farley Nicknames: Lyn/Callie, Amy (if you want to annoy her) She mostly prefers Lyn. Age: 17 years Birthday: 21st of May Gender: Female Sexuality: Open, I’d like to play that one out if you don’t mind Face Claim: Summer Glau Appearance: Lyn is rather good looking, especially if she puts in some effort. She doesn’t stand out that much, initially, but she’s pretty enough with her light brown hair, the delicately built face and the honey colored eyes. She stands at 1.60m and is slender, but has an agile, wiry strength to her. In her movements, she possesses the natural grace of any predator, but she has learned to suppress that in order to better blend in. Still, there is a kind of confidence and ease to her movements that speaks volumes if someone cares to pay attention to it. She can shift further than most, but not quite to the degree resembling a real wolf. Personality: Lyn used to be open and cheerful, the life of any party and always in the middle of things. She is talented, sportive and good looking, and social interaction comes as naturally to her as breathing. She was the star of her old school, but that was before her first confrontation with hunters. After only ever knowing peace – or at least a kind of uneasy truce – that confrontation was a bad shock to the teen, even more so as it left her all alone in the end. She has been trying to make herself a place in the world ever since. Formerly careless, Caelyn has learned to be wary of anyone and everyone around, keeping to herself a lot these days and certainly not about to give out any more information than necessary. The only people she might trust are her own kind and the druids, who effectively saved her life and supported her after losing everyone else she might have relied on. Her family and pack was her world, and even after losing all of them and spending almost two years in self chosen seclusion, inside, she is still a deeply social creature and will eventually feel the urge to find a new pack for herself. Anyway, with a pack or without and no matter what life throws at her next, she will push through. It wasn’t fun, it certainly wasn’t easy, but the people who still thought life was easy had better wake up. She has long since established for herself, that the world is a cruel place and bad things are bound to happen, especially when you least expect them. If people just gave up the first time they faced a problem, they’d never gotten as far. Lyn still isn’t sure, if life is really worth it, but one thing she is certain of: She will never find that out if she stops trying. Lyn keeps her distance from others, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care. Rather the opposite, actually. If she can do something to help, she most likely will, even if that puts her in harm’s way. That is partly because she knows that she can endure it, but can’t be sure about others, but there is also a sense of debt. When she most needed help, something, if it was fate, coincidence or whatever, sent her help in ways of the druids, and she feels like someday, she has to return that favor to someone. One more rather important thing about her is, that despite being an Omega and despite all the horror she has been through, Caelyn has never lost any of the confidence and determination to go on, against all odds if need be that she earned in younger years. She might sometimes overestimate her own abilities, but she will at least try push through anyway because she knows, or rather feels, that she can do better. Lyn carries a deep hatred for hunters and wariness against humans in general as well as a near paralyzing fear of fire. Mother: Katherine (Kate) Anne Farley (deceased) Father: Jonathan (Jon) Aidan Farley (deceased) Children: n/A Pets: n/A Others: Ceallach (Cale) Brandon Farley (Little Brother, -6, deceased at the age of nine 9); Ailis (Alice) Ciarda Farley (Little sister, -11, deceased at the age of four) Note: The Farleys have a long tradition to stick to the old Celtic names among their own, as a way to remember their origins. History: Caelyn was born into a small family of werewolves, part of a larger pack, and for many years all was well. Usually, even born Werewolves, to a certain degree, have trouble learning control at first. Not Caelyn. She took to both shapes and all the advantages and disadvantages like a fish takes to water, and even her parents were surprised at how fast she learned. Caelyn has never (seriously) hurt someone during a full moon, or at any other time for that matter, and is rather proud of that as most aren’t so lucky. She only had to look at her mother’s eyes to remember that. That high level of control so early in her life, of course, made it possible for her to live a much more regular life than most of her kind. She didn’t have to check the moon phase before accepting a date or going to a party, and her entire childhood was rather uneventful. Gifted not only with a talent for shapeshifting and controlling her abilities but also with intelligence and rather good looks, she was always popular, always in the middle of things, be that in school or among the younger generation of their pack. Of course, life was too perfect to remain so for long. In her fifteenth year, on the night of a pack meeting, a local family of hunters staged a grand scale attack as response to a minor slip. How they had found out about the meeting, nobody knew. Always known for extreme reactions, the Serras had left them alone for a long enough time for them to feel safe. Not one of them expected it when they charged in, slaughtering every man, woman and child in their path. It was a massacre. A few of them escaped by sheer luck before the hunters started filtering wolfsbane through the air conditioners and set fire to the house, but even of those who made it out, most succumbed to their injuries sooner rather than later. Caelyn was one of the lucky few who actually survived… or maybe not so lucky at that, for she was barely more than a child, omega, without pack or living relatives. She had seen horrors beyond imagination, had seen most of her family burn and the rest die slowly but surely of wolfsbane poisoning. She still isn’t sure which the crueler death was, and the memories will probably haunt her for the rest of her life. She found refuge with the pack’s druid emissary, Laura de Darra, who sent her to another state to live with her brother Philippe, out of reach for the hunters, at least for now, but with the counsel to leave in search for a new pack as soon as possible. She has learned a lot from them in the almost two years she stayed with them, and certainly enough to continue her studies on her own. Of course, there are things she would never be taught no matter how often she asked, things only druids knew about, and she was completely fine with that. But other things… well, the more she knew, the better she would be able to protect herself and the more help she could be to a potential new pack, which was essentially the purpose of her training . Not the least of what Philippe taught her, or rather had her learn with experts as he wasn’t that good himself, were several martial arts to make up for the strength she lacked as an Omega. Lyn still isn't used to being this weak, she has always been among the stronger of her kind, and it is rather irritating to her to have lost so much of what she was counting on. Still, it might be better this way, as while she has lost a lot in the way of physical strength, at least her reflexes and senses are almost unimpaired, which helps her stand her ground. After all, if you know how to go about it, you don't necessarily need to be strong to fight effectively and that her mentor has seen to. It will remain to be seen, how she would fare against another of her kind. The druids helped her gain legal emancipation as soon as possible, and when they finally managed to get it through court, Caelyn took up her search for a pack, which eventually lead her to Beacon Hills, almost as if she was drawn there. RP Sample: Caelyn flopped back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling without really seeing anything. So this was it then, Beacon Hills. She still wasn’t quite sure why she had come here. It was a small town, and really nothing special, but something about coming here had felt right in a way she couldn’t quite describe. Maybe there was more to it than met the eye? It honestly wouldn’t surprise her all that much, not after all the things she had seen by now. Was she ready for this? She wasn’t entirely sure. High School… the concept alone seemed alien to her and after two years of home tutoring, she wasn’t entirely sure going back now was such a good idea. Come to think of it… how would she ever catch up with Mathematics or History? Human history, that was. There was so much they left out… just as there was a lot she hadn’t really covered because it was all but irrelevant to her. She had to be careful there. The usual human curriculum was somewhat different to what Philippe had taught her these last few years out of necessity; that was for sure. Oh well… as long as she wouldn’t go into the chemical and biological reactions of wolfsbane with a werewolf’s body in chemistry or spurt out any ancient languages she wasn't even supposed to know existed, she should be fine. Riiight... “Just try not to be the weird kid again”, she told herself drily, before laughing mirthlessly. It was ridiculous, wasn’t it? After all she had been through and all the things she had learned none of these kids would even have the slightest clue about, she would return to High School and pretend to be one of them. Well… better get in a good start and not be late on her first day, then. Resolutely, she pushed herself up and gathered her things, writing utensils and the necessary papers, mostly, her phone and the small, hidden book with her emergency notes. That one, she quickly slid inside a hidden pocket. Not to imagine what questions it would raise if someone found this among her things. Before moving out, Lyn carefully concealed her scent as far as she was able to. There definitely were others in this town, but it would do her no good to confront them without knowing what kind of people they were. Better hide her presence for a while, if possible and make a few careful inquiries first. The new Omega in town… it wasn’t exactly a role Caelyn liked to have, but she would make do. Backing out wasn’t an option to her. When she started to give up without even trying, she could just as well go back and present herself to the Serras on a silver platter. |
