ARIEL KNIGHT alone she sleeps in the shirt of man with my three wishes clutched in her hand the first that she be spared the pain that comes from a dark and laughing rain Human Full Name: Ariel Knight Nicknames: Ari, El Age: 17 Birthday: February 10th, 1998 Gender: Female Sexuality: Straight Face Claim: Britt Robertson Appearance: Ariel is very good looking and she knows it. not that she likes to use it to her advantage – but when god gives you lemons… with her dirty blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, it's hard not to get lost in her gaze when she looks at you. Ariel appreciates fashion, while she's no run-way model, she isn’t clueless either. She doesn’t believe that you need to suffer to look good so she will always opt for something comfortable, but it will always be pretty, even slightly feminine. Perhaps a sort of compensation for her more asexual hunting clothes. She loves the normal t-shirt and jeans, but she loves her dresses as well. When she's in her serious mode though, hunting or practicing, she will always choose something comfortable and practical – but you can be sure it would be pretty even if it’s just a simple sweatshirt and jeans. Personality: Ariel is a very serious girl. She had been since she was very young. Whether it was the death of her mother or the discovery of the truth that shaped her she couldn’t pin point for sure, but there you have it. She can be fun and laid back, but given her history, and what she knows, and for the past 4 years what she does on her after school hours – she has to be serious. Ariel always finishes what she starts – she takes pride in not doing a half job. And if it doesn’t work at first – she will try harder the next time until it does. She is not a perfectionist but she does not settle for mediocre. She is a very passionate girl, even if most people wouldn’t think so because she's quiet. She just doesn’t like to waste her time on nonsense. Some people could take that as snobbish – but the few who get to know her realize it's never meant in a bad way. Ariel simply prefers to listen and learn and keeps her thoughts to herself, feeling that makes her less vulnerable. She's not afraid to say what's on her mind though if you annoy her or if she likes you – she's very honest in that aspect. She never really got a chance to experience teenage life normally, so she can come across as awkward, but she really couldn’t care less about how others perceive her. Plus, she could probably kick anyone's ass so she's got the confident to be who she wants without worrying about others opinions. Mother: Madeline Knight (nee Chase) (deceased) Father: David Knight Children: n/a Pets: n/a Others: Ben Chase (uncle), Malcolm Chase (grandfather) History: Ariel was born in Beacon Hills although most people probably wouldn’t recognize her since they moved away when she was 8 years old. That’s when her mother, Madeline, died, and her father, David, decided they needed a change. It was only years later, when she was 12, that she found out the real reason, or better say – the complete reason. Her mother didn’t just die – she was murdered. An animal attack is what they called it, but apparently it wasn’t as simple as that. Her mother's family was deep in the business of supernatural creatures and hunting them was their specialty. Her father was never too keen on the matter but he learnt to accept the love of his life as who she was and dealt with it. Plus, Madeline sought out the peace in the situations she was in and that helped David cope with the surreal situation that was now his reality. However when Madeline was taken from him so brutally he needed to take a step back, especially since he was no expert on those matters like his wife had been. For Ariel it was simpler; at least, as simple as losing your mother can be at the age of 8, but hearing the truth 4 years later shattered her world. For one, it felt like she was losing her mother all over again, and then add to that the new take on life – filled with these horrible creatures that can do such horrid things. Ariel insisted on learning everything she could on the matter, despite of her father's reluctance. She knew deep down he understood her drive – he was the one who told her the truth after all. She mused that it was because he couldn’t do the things his mother did, but Ariel could. Ariel spent a lot of time with her uncle – her mother's younger brother, Ben – and he taught her everything she needed to know on being a hunter. For the most part Ariel actually enjoyed it – she felt stronger as she actually became physically stronger, and she appreciated the knowledge she had, knowing that knowledge really is power in this supernatural world. But she didn’t take her "real life" for granted either and made it a point to do well in school. The only part she was lacking perhaps was having friends. She had friends, but none were as close as she could hope. She knew it was a choice she made when she decided to join the hunters, but it still hurt sometimes – not having a true connection with someone outside of her family. But how could she when she knew what she knew? For the most part her life went without major events – she was too young to go on the serious hunting trips, but she did experience some captures here and there when she was 16. Her family prided on being reasonable, but not afraid to do what was necessary if needed. She was even starting to get a better grip on handling the hunting and real life interactions at school when her father said they would be moving back to Beacon Hills. Ariel was quite confused with that but he explained that there was a dire need of doctors there. When she asked Ben he explained that wasn’t the only reason – Malcolm, her grandfather, asked her father to move back because suspicious things were happening and he thought it would be best to keep an eye out. He felt that Ariel was prepared enough to gather information, and the town really did need doctors – so it was a win-win. Ariel was excited that they trusted her with this although leaving the few friends she finally managed to make disappointed her, she didn’t feel so attached to them she would object to the move. RP Sample: Ariel wasn’t nervous; her grades were good enough for the transfer to be fine and while she didn’t have many friends back home she did have social skills. She will be fine. At least, that’s what she told herself when she closed her locker door and looked left and right, orienting herself with the new hallway in the new school. It won't take her long to remember all the ways, and most importantly – all the entrances and exits. You always had to check your exits when you enter a new place. That’s something her uncle taught. She laughed at him, because their hunting usually happened outside, where "exit" was everywhere, but he insisted on her learning everything, and so she did. And gladly so – obviously it was useful information. Not that she was going to be attacked in school. That would be extreme. But "prepare for the worst" was also something Ben taught her, so she simply shrugged as she concluded her internal discussion, knowing full well all she knew was not a waste. She just hoped she knew enough chemistry for the AP in this school. She didn’t doubt herself, but she was just a 17 year old girl – she was allowed to have doubts every now and then. She took a seat at the back of the class after the teacher introduced her as the new girl. She new he was just trying to be nice and help her meet and make friends, but she really didn’t need the attention right now. She was mostly concerned about her father having to drive her to school – she really needed to get a ride of her own. Her father was always reluctant – god knows why – but she hoped that his weird work hours would convince him she needed her independence. Plus, he should totally trust her by now to be responsible. She dealt with a lot worse stuff already than stirring a wheel. Ariel was brought out of her reverie when the teacher asked a question she realized she knew the answer to, but no one else did. She raised her hand and when the teacher allowed she answered, correctly, and was pleased with herself – she didn’t need any catching up after all. |
