Stopping By [Morgan]

Melissa continued to look around the store as she waited for Morgan to appear. She hoped he appeared soon enough. After all, she wanted to try and get back to Scott. The two of them hadn’t spent any sort of quality time together in a while so she hoped that she would able to do so with him soon enough. She did, after all, miss her son. He had been so busy with supernatural stuff, school, and lacrosse and she had been so busy with working all the shifts under the sun, she hoped that the two of them could spent at least some of such a nice day together, but she digressed and instead focused on what was going on around her, since, well, that could be rather important in a place called the Mystic Moon, even if it was a bookstore with an attached little café. The café, she had to admit, was adorable and she wondered if she should get some tea to go, and perhaps a book for Scott. She’d return later to check them out, but for now she heard a noise behind her.

The nurse turned around and looked over at the tall, blonde man that stepped from the back area and into the store area. He placed something on the counter and she looked at it briefly before she turned her attention back to him. She smiled over at him as he smiled at her before he told her that he was there, which she knew now, but she didn’t comment on it. Instead she grinned more before he asked her what brought her to the store on such a nice day. She paused a moment. “To be honest, I’m here to thank you for the talisman. I had someone check it and he confirmed what you had told me before. With what’s going on, it’s…difficult to trust people who have knowledge of the supernatural,” she told him, feeling as though she could be a little more honest now that they weren’t in a shopping mall near a grocery store. Talking about the supernatural in such a place as this made more sense, especially given the book titles she had seen earlier.

The single mother waited for the nephew of her best friends to respond. He told her that he figured that she would have had someone inspect it at some point. Well, of course she would have. Given all the nonsense that had happened in their lives, it would only make sense for her to want to get things given to her checked out. Between Peter dating her to try and get to Scott and her finding out Scott was a werewolf. Not to mention there was the whole Kanima incident with Jackson Whitmore. Oh! And the Alpha pack that showed up, Deucalion trying to threaten her to get to Scott, which worked. And finally there was the dark fox spirit that possessed her son’s best friend, and the crazy school teacher who was a darach that wanted to sacrifice her to appease the Nemeton. Not necessarily in that order, but that was all that had happened so far. It was something that she wanted to avoid of she could. She didn’t need more reasons for Scott to have to fight people. So of course she would have someone check it out.

While Melissa would have liked to trust Morgan, he had been a good kid, he had been gone for so long and had a knowledge of the supernatural that it would be foolish for her to just immediately trust him again. Although, she was glad to hear that he was glad she was using it. She smiled over at him and nodded her head. She needed all the protection that she could get. For any reasons that one would need, see the statements in the above paragraph. Although she could always attempt to give it to Scott. He needed it more than she did, after all, he went through so much more than she did. Knowing her son, though, he would refuse it, tell her she needed it to keep her safe, and then state that if it was ever the reason she would be hurt, he would probably rip out Morgan’s throat or tell him to leave Beacon Hills and never return. For the moment, though, Melissa would give Morgan the benefit of the doubt.

Mpeaking of Morgan, he had pulled out a harp and she had noticed it before he wrote down something on a piece of paper. He put it on the door and locked it, making her a bit apprehensive, but she made herself relax before he flipped the sign to closed and returned to his desk. He put the harp-looking instrument away and asked her for a bite to eat and some tea in his apartment since it looked like she had something on her mind. She chuckled. “I’m a mother, when don’t I have something on my mind?” She joked before she nodded her head. “And sure, I wouldn’t mind a little snack,” she stated, sure that Stiles would be upset with her, but she needed to get both sides of his story.
