Most teenagers don’t go out of their way to hang out with their parents, quite the contrary even. But that was not the case for Ariel and her father. In this case, her father had a night shift, and so he was still sleeping when Ariel got back from school early around noon. She was quiet, making sure she wouldn’t disturb and wake him, knowing how much he needed this sleep before the sleepless night ahead of him. She also knew he would wake up soon regardless of the sleep hours he needed to catch up on because he had so much he still needed to take care of (mostly all sorts of transfer forms and payments and whatnot, things that Ariel couldn’t help even if she wanted to). So Ariel decided she would surprise her father with his a delicious meal. Of course, they had been eating all week what she prepared so she decided to get something different from the diner – she heard they had the best burgers and curly fries in California.
She quietly grabbed the car keys and left for the diner. It was easy enough to find; everything was easy to find in a small town. She checked her watch, hoping her father didn’t wake up yet as she made her way inside the diner. It wasn’t full but it was definitely getting there seeing as it was almost lunch time for most people who had a job (and a lunch break). She hurried over to the counter where she could order take-out when she noticed someone was standing by the counter, probably also waiting for his take-out order. Before she could focus more on him though a young girl appeared before her, ready to take Ariel's order. After giving out her order Ariel stepped aside so the person behind her could order as well, thus also stepping closer to the young man already standing there, patiently waiting for his order.
She looked at him more closely, he wasn’t facing her but she could still make up most of his features from his profile. She couldn’t help but feel like she recognized him (probably his younger self from when she lived in Beacon Hills). Her brows knitted closer together as she tried to place him when suddenly it hit her! "Stiles?" she asked curiously, but also cautiously in case she was completely wrong. Thought the moment she said his name she was certain she was right and it really was him in front of her.
