There had been a call into the station from the local high school, something about damage to the property. Normally that wouldn't have been cause for concern with their department but it appeared to be that they had managed to catch the kid only a few feet away from the scene of the crime. It was some incoming freshman who apparently had a past with this sort of thing.
All of the other officers seemed far too busy and the sheriff looked all too happy to pass on the case to him. Thomas wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth especially when there was the off chance of seeing his brother at school. He worried about him sometimes and felt that perhaps he wasn't adjustment himself as well as he should or making friends with the locals like he had asked him to.
Relationships with others seemed to play a big part in the way that one could hold themselves in the town. Shortly after having bumped into the beautiful Lydia Martin, he had taken to searching through the records of past events of the town. One in particular stood out to him that many would overlook. However, that was for another time. Perhaps once Hadyn came home he would pull out the file he had expertly slid behind his clipboard and into his car.
Arriving into the school, he headed around the official sign and in through the big double doors. There was a teacher waiting for him near the front office and seemed all too eager to pin the blame on this kid. Almost like their life depended on it. His eyes looked towards the chair where the supposed delinquent sat. He couldn't have been more than fourteen years old and the teachers were acting like he was some criminal. “Liam Dunbar?” He waited for the kid to nod.“Would you mind following me to the scene of the crime?” He did his best to not seem imposing on the kid, wanting him to trust him and trust the justice system that had already failed him that day.
