ISAAC SAMUEL LAHEY NO ONE LEAVES HOME UNLESS HOME IS THE MOUTH OF A SHARK werewolf Full Name: Isaac Samuel Lahey Nicknames: Other than his dad's nicknames for him, which were words like bastard, idiot or moron, he doesn't have any Age: seventeen Birthday: december 3rd Gender: male Sexuality: heterosexual Face Claim: Daniel Sharman Appearance: Isaac has think blond hair that is always curly. He used to hate those damned curls because they were much more frizzy when he was a child and the other kids always used to tease him and say his hair looked like a bird's nest. He's learned to tame his curls with gel by now and doesn't mind them much anymore. His skin is quite pale so that his blue eyes seem almost piercing and are pretty striking when you look at him. With a height of more than six feet, he's pretty tall, has broad shoulders and a wide and sharp jaw. Since turning into a werewolf, he's gained a few muscles and doesn't seem as lanky as he used to. Personality: Before being bitten by Derek and transforming into a werewolf, Isaac used to keep to himself mostly. He never wanted to draw a lot of attention to himself and was very shy, hardly ever talking to anyone except for that one time when he gathered all his courage and approached Lydia to ask her out on a date, at which he was brutally rejected. When he was freed after years of abuse by his father, being made to feel worthless and unlovable, he tried to cover up those feelings by joking around, being sarcastic and a bit of a jerk to be honest. He doesn't like to show it, but the memories of his dad's abuse still haunt him and he often has nightmares. He's vulnerable and sensitive and often doubts that anyone could really care about him. He's extremely loyal and protective over his friends and would do anything to keep the people he cares about safe. Mother: Sylvia Anne Lahey (née Brickle) Isaac's mom was the only person who's love for him he never doubted. She was the typical mother you'd see in a 60's movie – always baking, making him a sandwich straight after school, helping him with his homework and making his Halloween costumes. Isaac was only nine years old when his mother became sick. She always kept on a brave face for her kids, always reassuring her younger son that she was gonna be okay and later that she wasn't going to be in hospital for long, that she was going to come home but she never did. Father: Ray Andrew Lahey Isaac's father had never been loving, even before he started abusing his son. He'd always been cold and distant, too busy to spend his precious time with his children. He always loved to have a beer or two after work, but after Camden died, he started drinking a lot and with the drinking, came the abuse. Children: None Pets: None Others: Camden Nathan Lahey Camden was seven years older than Isaac and like any other older brother – he teased Isaac and was often annoyed by his following him around but he'd never let anyone else push his little brother around. After the death of their mother, Camden became angry and rebellious and wouldn't open up to anybody. He just came home one day and declared that he was going to the Army. After that, everything happened so fast – Camden went to boot camp, graduated and was sent to Afghanistan. He'd just been gone for about eight months when Isaac and his father got the news that he'd died in combat. History: Isaac was born as the second son of the Laheys, seven years after his brother Camden. His father later told him more than once, that he'd never wanted to have more children, that Isaac had been an accident. Of course it always bothered the boy, that his father didn't seem to care about him, bit his mother always more than made up for this by giving him lots of hugs and kisses. One evening his mother sat him and Camden down at the kitchen table, a plate of cookies standing in the middle that had the young boys undivided attention until his mom grabbed his hand and looked at him with the same expression as when she'd told him that his granddad had died. She told him and his brother about an illness called cancer and about her having to go to the hospital. But Isaac didn't really understand what it all meant until he noticed that his mom was tired all the time, that she had to take pills and then later when he saw her throw up and her hair fall out. He couldn't stop sobbing when his dad's employees lowered his mother's casket into the freshly dug grave and his dad's hand on his shoulder didn't feel comforting, it weighed much too heavy on him. After the funeral, Camden never wanted to play with him anymore, he didn't even want to talk to him, always slamming his bedroom door shut when Isaac came to see him. The young boy felt more alone than he ever had, even worse than when he got picked last at school for baseball or anything else. His dad could barely cope doing all the things his wife used to do and his temper grew shorter and shorter and he even slapped Isaac when he got really angry and got into fights with Camden. It was only two years after his mother's death when Camden decided to join the Army and left their family home. Isaac stood in the middle of the stairs and watched as his father talked to a man in uniform. He could only see his dad's back, but the expression on the other man's face seemed grave and he saluted Mr.Lahey before turning around and leaving for his car. He wasn't gentle when he informed his son of his brother's death and left the table to let the young boy cry in silence. Mr.Lahey hardly talked to his son after Camden was buried until Isaac dropped a plate while doing the dishes and his dad went into a total rage, screaming and hit him so hard, he started bleeding from a gash on his forehead and had a black eye the next day. After this incident, Mr.Lahey began hitting his son more and more frequently, belittling him and eventually also using the freezer in the basement for his cruel punishments. The teenager's confidence was practically nonexistent by the time he met Derek Hale that night when he was cowering in the empty grave. He could hardly believe what his mysterious rescuer told him about werewolves and other creatures, but he just had to because it gave him some hope that he could finally escape his miserable life. He accepted Derek's bite and after another night of abuse from his father, fled to his new alpha only to find out about his dad's murder the next day. After hiding from the police for a while under the suspicion of his dad's murder, Isaac's name got cleared and he lived with Erica and Boyd as Derek's betas. His new found freedom from abuse made him cocky and sarcastic, but it was merely a front to hide his pain and feelings of worthlessness. It was strange for him when he moved in with Scott and his mom, because he'd almost forgotten what a normal family looked like. Although the McCalls were probably not really a normal family, anything not involving regular beatings seemed normal to the young werewolf. His sense of loyalty towards Scott and his raging hormones fought epic battles when he started to feel attracted to Allison. He didn't even think Scott's ex would reciprocate his interest at first and his attempts to flirt with her were just his usual cockiness to hide his actual uncertainty. They hadn't even defined if they were a couple when he'd been taken from him and ever since then, Isaac has felt depressed RP Sample: Isaac suddenly sits up straight in the bed he's been sleeping in for the past few weeks in the McCall's guest room. He bolts up from another one of his bad dreams, his skin covered in a thin layer of sweat, his hair damp from it. He breaths heavily, fear still making his heart beat faster and he can almost feel his father's hand still clasped around his arm. He looks around the dark room, his eyes slowly adjusting to the lack of light, confused as he needs a moment before realizing that he's at the McCall's – the house he calls home for now. He switches on the bedside lamp and rubs his sweaty forehead, trying to calm his heart which is still hammering against his rib cage. He hesitates for a moment, trying to decide whether to try and go back to sleep or getting out of bed. He finally realizes that he probably won't be able to go back to sleep for a while and gets up, pushing his feet into the slippers standing next to the bed. Isaac tries to be as quiet as possible as he opens the door and steps into the hallway. Melissa has been trying to reassure him that he doesn't have to walk on eggshells around him, that he can help himself from anything inside the fridge whenever he wants to and that he doesn't always have to do the dishes or other things around the house. But he still feels like he's intruding on their family life and worries that Melissa's going to kick him out just like Derek once she's had enough of him. He now takes careful steps through the hallway towards Scott's room. He stands in front of his friend's bedroom door and lifts his hand, ready to knock but then stops in his tracks. He remembers how Stiles asked him if he was still milking his sad childhood story and suddenly he doesn't want to bother Scott anymore. Isaac has never really talked to Scott or the others about his dad's abuse, they only know about what they could guess themselves by seeing his former home and hearing Jackson talk about what he used to witness as the Lahey's neighbor. Sometimes the beta feels like he wants to talk about it, but he can't bring himself to actually do it just like he can't go it now. So he goes back to the guest room, gets under the covers and cries silently for a while before going back to sleep. |
