CARTER ISABELLE STEVENS YOU'VE BEEN UP AND DOWN, YOU'VE BEEN LOW. PRETENDING TO NOT FEEL ALONE human Full Name: Carter Stevens Nicknames: Carter doesn't like nicknames so she won't let anyone give her one Age: 17 Birthday: December 2nd Gender: female Sexuality: heterosexual, but likes to experiment Face Claim: Kathryn Prescott Appearance: Carter has no model looks, but somehow she still makes all heads turn her way when she enters a room. She usually has a cheeky grin on her face and it's probably rather her personality and attitude that make others want to be close to her. She's petite and would be innocent looking if it wasn't for the mischievous expression that decorates her face most of the time. She likes to experiment with hair colors and styles, so you might never know when you say goodbye to her on one day, if she'll look the next time you see her. She usually wears casual and comfortable, but still stylish clothes. Even though she likes to flirt, she's not one for deep cleavages and too short dresses. Her big, brown eyes look deer-like in her round and pale face and her mouth is small and of fair color. Personality: Carter is the sort of person who never fades into the background no matter how big the group of people around her is. When she was struggling with her family's death, she realized that she could draw people's attention with her ability of storytelling. She has such a way with words that everyone hangs on her lips whenever she talks. She has sort of a leader status in her clique and her friends are fine with that because she's someone who'd do anything for her friends. But she doesn't really get along with people who also have this leader-personality and want to get their way just like she does. She's very honest, sometimes brutaly so and often doesn't realize when she hurts someone with her words. The teen is a rebelious girl and her teachers and foster parents often have their hands full with her. She likes to test the limits of any authority figure around her, like getting a fake ID to buy alcohol for example, and mostly makes a joke about breaking rules. She also likes to experiment with party drugs and has often been called wreckless. Being around her is never boring, but it can get quite exhausting because she doesn't like to stand still for too long. Mother: Rebecca Anne Stevens (née Gordon) Rebecca, or Becca as her husband always called her, was as fun-loving as her daughter. She'd always think of new activities to do with her children, staging little plays with self-made costumes and inventing bedtime stories. She had a very relaxed way of parenting and didn't like to discipline her children, sometimes even annoying her husband because he always had to play the bad cop Father: Oliver Gerrit Stevens Oliver was a simple plumber, earning enough for him and his little family to live a comfortable man. He was a simple man, but more intelligent than people would give him credit for. He always helped his children with their homework, making sure that they had fun while learning. It was also very important for him to teach his children good manners, simple things like saying 'please' and 'thank you' and think of others' well-being. Others: Ben Adam Stevens Carter's brother was three years older than her and a typical big brother. He'd always been very protective of her ever since his parents had told him that he was her big brother and he should look out for her. He was a very sporty kid and popular at school so no one would dare to bully his little sister and if they still dared to try, they would soon regret it. Still, he was sometimes overwhelmed by her hyperactive behavior because he was more like his father – relaxed and only spoke up when he had something important to say. History: Carter was born as the second child of her parents, making the little family perfect because the couple now had a boy and a girl, just like they'd always wanted. Her big brother Ben was jealous at first since the three-year-old was always used to having everyone's attention as the little prince and now everyone was gushing over the little girl. He couldn't be mad at his sister for long though, the siblings just loved each other too much. Carter's first word was her brother's name and as soon as she could crawl and later walk, she'd follow him around everywhere. This sometimes annoyed the boy as well, but they mostly had fun together. They were the best of friends and both had a very happy childhood, both their parents devoted to them. Carter's dad worked hard hours to support his family, but always made sure to spend enough time with his kids, making sure to get home early enough to have dinner with his family and tuck his kids into bed. The four of them would plan adventures for the weekends or do it Rebecca's way and just take the car out, letting the kids decide if they'd turn right or left and just see where it took them. Mr. Stevens would be nervous because he liked to be organized but he'd let his wife and daughter have their fun. On one of those weekends, the Stevens had planned to go to the Zoo. They had packed a picnic and Carter had brought along her favorite toy, a stuffed elephant called Troy. She was eleven and Ben was fourteen, an age that meant he'd often be annoyed about his little sister always being around him and wanted to spend more time with his friends than her. This made Carter jealous and so she was trying to get her brother's attention while he was trying to play with his GameBoy. They were fighting and Ben was trying to get his parents to do something about his sister distracting him from his game. Their dad was driving and he finally got fed up with his childrens' bickering. He turned around for just a second and just in that moment, a truck drove right into their car. Carter suffered severe injuries and went into a coma for three months, only to wake up and have some Counselor from the hospital tell her that her parents and brother had all died, were already buried and that she was lucky to be alive. She needed a lot of therapy to be able to walk again, more taking longer than she could have because she didn't see the point in getting better at first. She still feels like it was her fault that her family died because she hadn't stopped annoying Ben, but she'd never tell anyone. When she got out of the hospital, a social worker took her to her new foster home because she had no other family that could take her in. It was hard for her because of all the other kids living with her who would often be rough with one another. She wouldn't speak for a while and was shy and closed up. She soon learned that the kids who misbehaved got more attention though and started to act up which caused her to be moved from one foster home to the next, always changing schools when she'd be taken to another town. She didn't care for school much, although she was smart enough to always keep her grades high enough so she wouldn't have to do a year again. Her teachers were often frustrated with her because they could tell that she was very intelligent but she just didn't bother to do the work and would always break the rules. Of course most students celebrated her for her big mouth in front of the teachers and for the legendary parties she managed to throw. When she was about fifteen, she started to drink alcohol, using her charms to get adults, mostly men, to buy it for her and later she got a fake ID. Once she got into bars and clubs, she started to experiment with drugs that were offered to her, which has already caused her to be rushed into hospital at one point. Shortly after her fifteenth birthday, she was sent to her next foster home, which caused her to act out even more because she was pissed about having to leave her friends behind and Beacon Hills didn't seem like a town where a lot of exciting things happened. Her new foster parents were only in it for the money, they already had two boys in their house who were both a little older than her and didn't really care about becoming friends with her – maybe making out with her, but not being friends. The house was all rules and chores, not at all to the girl's liking and she'd always hit heads with everyone in the house. Carter had already noticed with disgust that her foster dad would touch her any chance he got, sometimes just rubbing her back but on other occasions touching her butt and he'd always grin at her with those disgusting teeth that were yellow from too much smoking. Then one night he came into her room and laid next to her, touching her and making her touch him. After that it just got worse. As much as she liked to talk, she didn't talk about this to anyone. She just started flirting with any cute guy and make out at every party. She didn't care if a lot of girls would call her a bitch as long as she could replace her foster dad's touch with that of a good looking boy and as long as she stopped feeling dirty and could feel pretty again. Starting a few weeks ago, she's noticed bruises just appearing all over her body and she often has nose bleeds or spits out blood. She's also been tired all the time no matter how many hours of sleep she gets and her friends have also noticed a lack of energy in her, but she doesn't want to go to a doctor because they would probably also notice her drug habit.
