Carina “Vida” Lunez Welcome to your life There’s no turning back Even while we sleep We will find you Acting on your best behavior Turn your back on Mother Nature Everybody want to rule the world Werewolf Alpha Full Name: Carina Lunez Nicknames: Vida Age: 25 Birthday: January 21, 1989 Gender: Female Sexuality: Straight Face Claim: Andrea Duro Appearance: Carina has a very welcome face, her eyes open with wonder and her lips soft and usually fitting into a gentle smile. She appears very fragile and petite yet, there is wildness deep within her. Her wolf nature can be shown in the iris of her eyes, the intensity her stare carries, and the structure of the cheekbones. She is a completely different person when the smile fades, these features standing out better. She is not a tall girl, she is at a modest height of 5’5 and a weight of 125 lbs. Her build is softer than expected, more tone then built yet, she has more power than her appearance leads one to believe. Her hair is black as a starless night, her eyes a deep velvety brown that intensifies in the light. She commands her hair into the trends of the modern girl, and cuts her bangs herself. Personality: Carina is a quiet and well-tempered girl. She was always taught that you gained more power in listening rather than speaking, only to add in when needed to keep the information coming from the other. If her family had taught her anything, it was to always find a way of getting the upper hand on your opponent. Her power was in her body language, the intensity in her eyes making her glare a weapon of it's own. When she did speak, every word held meaning. Her voice had a soundness to it, a rigidness in the depths of it she had learned from her Abuelo. She had a Spanish temper. While it was not often seen, push the right buttons, do the right amount of wrong and she will put you back into your place. She did have a sweetness to her, though. One thing she always believed in was the ability for people to change. She loved all living things and believed quite heavily that everything happened for a purpose. Carina is catholic and a heavy believer in Christ, despite the implication into the supernatural world. In her mind, werewolf is just another form of being on earth that god made to go on the journey of life. This also causes her to be very critical of herself when her animal like impulses try to get the best of her. Though her religious side forbids her from hating someone, She does find herself despising hunters. They led their lives in sin, killing innocent people and claiming it was justified. Their laws were perverted by pride and their form of justice rectified no sin's, only increased the tolls of sin on this world. After her family was slaughtered, she found herself reliving the moments of the horrific night her family and pack died playing over and over in her head as she slept at night. The solution? She got little sleep. She only slept when it was necessary and slept lightly. Mother: Maria Romero (deceased) Father: Santiago ‘Santi’ Lunez (deceased) Children: None Pets: None Others: Former Pack Alpha Gonzalo Lunez(deceased) Former Pack mates: Ricardo Garcia Luis Ortega Rodolfo Lunez (deceased) Martin Lunez (deceased) Lani Lunez(deceased) Tamera Vega(deceased) Gorge Vega(deceased) Jr. Ramirez(deceased) Carina Lunez the 1st (deceased) History: Carina was born to two werewolves, one made and one born. Her mother was made a werewolf by her Abuelo, Gonzalo. Her nickname ‘Vida’ was given to her by her grandmother, since Carina was named after her and the old woman grew tired of two Carina’s in the pack. Their family has led the Lunez Pack for generations, starting with her Abuelos Abuelo, and continuing all the way to her. This was kept this way by the Alpha, having their successor kill them when they became unable to lead. A gruesome, yet effective way to keep the Alpha through the family but, if another pack member who was not a Lunez attempted to take the Alpha title they would be mauled and killed off by whichever Lunez got the killing blow. Though luckily, this never happened in the pack’s history. It was unusual for the Alpha to turn members who were not part of the family. Most members were either married in or born in. The few who were brought in were often brought in circumstances of need and urgency. Carina was homeschooled and grew up transitioning between two houses; one in Mexico and one in the United States in California. She speaks both Spanish and English Fluently, and has little to no accent when speaking English. Her mother always pressured her to stick to English, as their dual citizen ship teetered from legal to illegal immigration. They always had to be careful of the various dangers being a werewolf lead to. Whether it was killing the neighbors pet on a full moon or getting in a pinch with hunters, life never seemed dull. Though, Carina never was one to embrace her Werewolf life, being that she had an older cousin who was supposed to become pack leader, she had no pressures in the pack except to be part of it. Being part of the pack was not hard; she enjoyed the big family feel and how each pack member was an extension of her. She also loved the pack leader, her Abuelo, who had a special soft spot for her. Yet, the easy times did not last and soon they found them getting in trouble with nearby hunters while they were in their Mexico home. It was a full moon and all was accounted for except Carina’s older cousin, Rodolfo. Rodolfo had taken to a girl in the nearby town, so it was not unusual for him to sneak off but, on this particular night, Carina’s Abuelo had a bad feeling about that night. In fact, the whole pack had felt uneasy through the next day as Rodolfo had not returned. So her Abuelo took two of the newer members, beta’s Ricardo and Luis, and set out to find Rodolfo. As they searched, Carina could feel the heavy despair that hung in the air of their home as they waited. As the night came to an end, The Beta’s and her Abuelo returned with no Rodolfo. Instead, her Abuelo informed the pack that the girl Rodolfo had been seeing was dead and that Rodolfo was the suspected cause. An added problem to this? The girl was connected to some very bad hunter’s located in Mexico. War was coming. It seemed funny; Carina never understood how one prepared for tremendous losses. She had never thought that she would suddenly have to prepare herself to say good bye to everyone she loved, or that she would see them all murdered before her eyes. The hunters worked in strange ways. They sent a message to them days later, informing them that Rodolfo had been killed and they wanted to meet with her grandfather, negotiate so that there was no hard feeling, Carina hoped. Though, Gonzalo Lupez was no fool, he knew what was coming. Yet, his pride had forbidden him from running. He gave the option to his pack but, most stayed. The meeting would commence as planned. Carina would like to think her mother and father did not know it was a trap. She would like to think her mother bought into the front of a simple meeting; after all, Rodolfo was dead. There would be no hard feelings. Carina liked to imagine that her mother thought that they were completely safe, and that she wasn’t bringing her only daughter to her death. Though, deep down she knew what her mother’s plan was. Either they lived on together as a pack, or died together as a family by the hands of the hunters. The first gunshot was the hardest to hear. It was the expected betrayal yet, rang with some sort of shock throughout the pack. Gonzalo Lunez was shot. The pack flew into a frenzy, the hunters coming out after them. In all the craziness, Carinas mother was shot right between the eyes with a wolfsbane filled bullet. As Carina’s mother crumpled before her, her father ran after the Hunter that did so and shared a similar fate. Carina began to panic, had Luis not pulled her from the spot next to her mother’s body, she would have died too. Ricardo had managed to weave his way through the fight, retrieve her Abuelo’s body and make a break for it. She is not sure how she, Luis, Ricardo, and her Grandfather escaped. She would like to think it was a way of god giving her a blessing when she needed it the most. In any way, they made it out. Carina and the others found their way into an abandoned apartment building, her grandfather taking the bedroom while Ricardo and Luis stood watch. Carina held her Grandfathers hand as she wished god to heal him. However, the bullet that had hit him square in the left shoulder was filled with wolfsbane, and would kill him no matter what. Then Carina finally seemed to realize why she was with her Grandfather in his dying moments. The tradition would continue. She was to become the next Alpha. After the deed was done, Carina felt herself want to grieve yet her new strength keeping her from shedding a tear. Safety came first. They fled to America, looking for a new place to inhabit, a new place to call home. Carina allowed her pack members to leave her, secretly glad for the security of her life, as both men seemed more than willing to kill her to take the Alpha title. If she did not feel obligated to keep the title in respect for her family, she would have given it to them if she knew how. Instead, she wandered to find a respectable home, a safe place to live, perhaps to start her pack anew and to continue the Lunez line. Carina found herself attracted to Beacon Hill for some strange reason. For whatever reason, she went with this feeling and went to scout it out. RP Sample: Carina held her grandfather’s cold hand as the dim light of the night sky provided her the outline of her grandfather’s face. He was dying, the black ooze was everywhere, the smell of death would follow soon. His hand suddenly clenched around hers. She could feel his gaze on her. It was time. Carinas strength failed her, she crumpled beside him, tears spilling over. She could not lose him. He was all she had left. Why did she have to be Alpha? ”I cannot do it, Abuelo. I am sorry.” She murmured, hating herself for her weakness. Though this man was no longer acting like her grandfather. This was the leader of her pack. This was her Alpha. He brought her hand to his throat, his eyes hard and harsh, despite the shaking in his hand. He was doing his duty, this needed to be done. Otherwise, this would be all for not. ”You must.” He said, managing an authoritative voice through the black bile spilling from his lips. ”Mi hija, this is your duty. Do not fail me.” He said as he fell into a coughing fit. His eyes did not lose their strength besides his body failing him. Carina understood her duty despite her reluctance; she knew there was no other way out of this. He was close to death so, in a way, she was putting him out of his misery. She commanded her claws to show themselves, watching through teary eyes as they slid out, pressing into his throat. She heard his breath become more labored with the added pressure. With one last look into her grandfather’s eyes, he nodded in assurance. This needed to be done. ”I love you, grandfather.” The deed was done, Carina left the shell of her former Alpha behind. She left the last family member she had behind, her pack mates looking at her as she stepped out of the room in a sort of way she did not like. They looked at her, unsure what to make of their new leader. They questioned her at first glance, but not for long. She found the new power from being an Alpha an assurance to herself. It felt good, it felt right. Being an Alpha was, after all, in her blood. |
