Stuck in a Cage (OPEN)

What a long day. Peter could not believe that it was barely noon. Still, the man seemed to be full of stress. Such stress that he was pondering going into the woods located in Beacon Hills Preserve. He loved going there, especially since his old home was there. He had many good memories in that home, but it hurt his heart to see the charred remains. He had tried so hard to save everyone in that house, to save those he loved, but he couldn't. In the end only Cora, Laura, Derek, and he survived. Derek and Laura weren't there, of course, but Cora and Peter were. The oldest werewolf still wasn't sure how his young niece had escaped, but he was glad that she had. Despite how he had killed his older niece, he regretted it, but it was necessary. It was more than necessary. He had to avenge their family. He knew that she would understand, but she wouldn't willingly allow him to kill her so he had to take it, for them, for their family that had perished.

Taking a deep breath, Peter pushed himself up from his white sofa and slipped on his shoes before making his way out of his apartment, locking the door, and heading out of the complex. He walked down the street casually, strolling carelessly as he made his way towards the Preserve. Despite having his apartment downtown, the Alpha turned Beta could easily sneak off and sprint there, releasing his wolf. And that is exactly what he did. His wolf was pleased to be let free as the two of them sprinted through the forest. As they did, an unfamiliar scent caught their attention. They stopped and when they did, a twig cracked under their feet. Peter growled at himself, frustrated before he looked around, ice blue orbs eyeing the forest as he looked for the owner of the scent. That was when he spotted her. He tilted his head at the female wolf, pondering if he should approach. He looked at her, carefully.

After a moment, Peter looked at her, still shifted into his wolf form. He knew there weren't any real wolves in California. Only weres. He paused before he shifted into his human form, gazing at the girl. "New here, are you?" He asked her, casually leaning against a nearby tree. He was calm, relaxed. This new wolf was clearly an Omega. One who was passing through Beacon Hills. Still, he knew that the Argents, or those who had kidnapped him and Derek would be on her tail the moment they knew she was around. Peter felt that in the war of Hunters versus Wolves, he would help his own species before allowing them to get mindlessly slaughtered by the Hunters. "You should try and be less conspicuous... Hunters aren't very kind to those like us," he stated, keeping his now normal, yet still piercing blue eyes on her.

Peter eyed the young werewolf a moment. He watched her closely, watching her body movements. She was an Omega and such she would either be overly aggressive or overly skittish. From the looks of her, she was more of the latter than the former. Not that he minded. He preferred that to more aggressive Omegas. After all, who wanted to deal with an aggressive ones? Certainly not him. After all, he didn't feel like fighting. The oldest werewolf in Beacon Hills was still healing after being resurrected from the dead. Of course, she didn't need to know that. In fact, he doubted that was something he would ever share with anyone...well...willingly. He had a feeling that Scott or Derek would more than willingly give her the information to scare the young wolf away from him.

It wasn't long until she responded, telling him that she was indeed new to Beacon Hills. He, of course, knew this already, but he figured as an Omega she didn't have much contact with people so he would cut her some slack...at least for now. "I take it you haven't run in to any of the others?" he asked her, trying to keep the conversation going. The more he spoke, the more she spoke, the more she relaxed. The more she relaxed, the happier the both of them would be. After all, no one liked a skittish wolf. It only put Peter on edge and he hated that feeling almost as much as feeling as powerless as he seemed to be recently. Soon, though, he would return to his Alpha status. He would become an Alpha again and all would be well.

The Omega spoke once more, telling him that she would try and be less obvious. He supposed he should be a good man, try and be helpful to the new girl. "I'm Peter," he stated so that the girl could relax. If she knew his name, it meant that she would further know him. It would make her more comfortable. And besides, perhaps the wandering Omega could really work in his favor in the end. It wasn't like he couldn't use some help, especially when it came to Scott and his pack. They were always quick to judge him, doubt him, question him. In Peter's mind, he was extremely intelligent and far more educated in the world of the supernatural than the kids whom he associated with. He was valuable and it was the only reason they hadn't gotten rid of him yet.

The self proclaimed Alpha nodded his head in response to her words. So she hadn't run in to any of the other members of the pack, or any other Omegas in Beacon Hills. This was definitely good news. It meant that he could put her under his wing before the others got to her. Of course, it wouldn't take much for them to give her the impression that he was a bad man. It was true, of course, but she didn't need to know or think that. He needed someone on his side, someone who he could unknowingly manipulate to do his will or at least be on his side. This girl could be perfect for any current and/or future plans that he happened to think of.

The female werewolf asked him if it looked all that obvious that she was new to the area. He chuckled and nodded his head. "The pack tends to know the creatures that venture into this place," he told her, remaining casually rested against the tree. "I have yet to hear the young ones mention a new Omega in Beacon Hills," he explained. He would, of course, tell her whatever she wanted to know when it came to the pack. After all, the more he shared, the more comfortable she became with him, which was always good for him in the end, even if it didn't always turn out the way he hoped. He hoped things would turn out well, but so far things don't always turn out the way he wanted.

Peter waited a moment before she introduced herself. He smiled a bit, nodding his head when she introduced herself. "Kahlee it is," he told her before he pushed himself off of the tree, lazily. He gently scratched his face for a moment. "Do tell me what brings you to Beacon Hills," he asked curiously. He remained relaxed and calm, trying to sound innocent and kind as he stood there, chatting carefully with her. As a werewolf himself, he hoped that this could be seen as a friendly and nice gesture. After all, who wouldn't be accepting of a fellow werewolf's kindness. Well, so he assumed. Things didn't always turn out the way he believed, but being the way that he was, perhaps his...fatherly nature would come out...at some point...eventually. The thought almost made him chuckle, but he was a father so perhaps some instincts would kick in.

Kahlee smiled at him, telling him that he would be more concerned if they didn't know what ventured into the Beacon Hills Preserve and he had to admit, she was right. He would be far more concerned about it if they didn't know what made its way into their town. Still, so far there had only been Hunters, lizard people, pesky humans, a dark Druid, a family of Kitsune and a Nogitsune, both of whom controlled Oni which went after all of the pack, and the return of a crazy bitch as a Werejaguar. It had been a long two years with these kids, but he digressed. What was he supposed to do about it? After all, it wasn't as though he could really do anything about it. He had been the cause their first year, but everything after that was all them. The waking of the Nemeton, the beacon that called to those who are supernatural to come to their town. It was only a matter of time, he assumed, until other creatures arrived. He was glad it was just her...for the moment.

The girl asked about the pack being young and he nodded his head. "Indeed. I seem to be the eldest werewolf in the area...sadly," he stated, mumbling the last part mostly to himself. It wasn't exactly something he enjoyed, being surrounded by teenagers but it seemed that they were the only weres in the area. Derek was the next eldest, followed by the teenagers. Cora, Malia, Jackson, Isaac, Erica, Boyd, Scott. Hell, even Kira the Kitsune was a teenager. Sure, most of the teenage weres listed were dead or moved to another location. It seemed that the only other adult in Beacon Hills that was a supernatural creature was Kate Argent and he was not about to go seek her out. No way. That was not something that he looked forward to rearing its ugly head, not in the slightest. God he hated her. He should have done a better job ripping out her throat.

The young werewolf told Peter that she needed someplace small to and that she was interested in Beacon Hills. Apparently it had taken four maps to find it. In other words, she's was looking for the once place someone couldn't hit on a map if they threw a dart unless they were looking at the right map. She asked if he had lived in Beacon Hills all of his life. He paused a moment before he nodded his head. The nod was short, a mere movement of his head down as he usually nodded. "Yes. I was born, raised, and grew up here. Even graduated from the local high school...the only high school we have here. If you wanted small, you've got it," he told her, his tone just as soft and soothing as it always seemed to be.

The self proclaimed alpha was impressed as he looked at the girl. She was feeling far more confident now than she seemed to be previously. How did he know? She was relaxing; she was joking with him. She was teasing, something that no one else around him seemed to be able to do or be comfortable with. This, of course, was because she wasn't used to him or knew about his past. She didn't know that he killed people and didn't care who they were. It wasn't completely true but it was true enough to make anyone else feel frightened of him or at least skeptical. He...supposed he would be skeptical too but himself he's more of a supporter. No one understood him like he did...obviously. Still, the girl was making an attempt at humor and it was something that he definitely appreciated so he offered her a charming grin before he responded. "Oh so much," he murmured sarcastically.

Peter paused a moment before he sighed. "My nephew is...was the leader of the pack. Now another Alpha is in charge and there are...a few of his fellow high schoolers in the pack...and not just a pack of wolves either," he mumbled, shaking his head. He couldn't help it. The girl seemed like a minimal threat and to be honest, he was sure that he could just start towards her and she would no doubt sprint off. He was sure that it wouldn't matter if she knew. In fact, perhaps if she got the balls, she could approach the pack. She could potentially attempt to join or at least seek them out and prove to them that she only means to find a home and not to cause any harm. Then again, if they couldn't tell from her skittish nature, he couldn't imagine them being all that...perceptive anyway.

Kahlee said that it seemed like a nice place to be. Peter nodded his head. Beacon Hills was in fact a nice place to live...so long as Kate Argent wasn't around. The girl said that she may stick around for a while as long as his pack wouldn't dislike her. She then said that she would quite like to remain alive. He chuckled. "I can't imagine they'd have a problem with you. Scott tends to have a talk now, shoot later attitude...you know without actually shooting anyone," he said, trying to keep her calm. He didn't want her to think Scott would, or could, actually shoot someone. He doubted she would ever be able to...ever.

Notes; Teen Wolf Season Four! AHH! Distracting! XD

Kahlee told Peter that at least he was never bored and he let out a bark of a laugh, shaking his head a bit. He leaned forward and pushed himself off of the tree that he was resting against. He made sure to keep his stance and posture relaxed as he shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t want to start her or anything. ”While that’s true, I doubt it’s because the pack is so young,” he stated with a cheeky grin in her direction. With all of the crazy supernatural shit that went on in Beacon Hills, it wasn’t shocking that he wouldn’t ever be bored. The man had gone through a lot since the death of his family and to be honest, he had a feeling it was only the beginning…the beginning of something he was not willing to think about since it only stressed him out.

The Omega spoke again, telling him that shooting wasn’t really their style. Peter shrugged. ”Well…one of us around here has a shooting preference but…” He made a face. ”He’s not…bad. We have one Hunter who…he hunts by a new code instead of the old one. One that dictates that he protects people who cannot protect themselves. He defends those who need it. He’s a good man, his daughter was a good girl,” he stated, knowing he was telling her too much. Still, whatever he told her was the truth and it only helped to play her further into his hand. After all, who wouldn’t want to befriend someone who seemed to trust her so easily? He couldn’t think of very many and as such, he figured the more he divulged, the more comfortable she would feel.

Peter sighed and shook his head. ”We’ve gone through a lot the past few years. I don’t mean to sound…rude or anything, but I doubt that an Omega would be very high on the pack’s priority list. Still, if you’d like, I could give you the name of the Alpha so you can talk to him, let him know you mean to merely make a home here and not cause any trouble. I’m sure he’d appreciate it,” he stated. He was seeming helpful. In all honesty, he wanted to test both her and Scott. He wanted to see what kind of Alpha this teenager was. He was a True Alpha, yes, but knowing Scott, he would be a good Alpha one whom Peter would indeed be jealous of, but for the moment, he was far more interested in testing the girl to see how far she would go to make a home for herself.
